Rozenfestival Lottum

Lottum is best known for its rose production. Over 70 percent of all rose growing businesses in The Netherlands are located in Lottum, a total of 20 million roses are grown here. That is why Lottum is called ‘the rose village of The Netherlands\\\'. Bi-annually, Lottum also organizes a Rose festival, which is held on the second Sunday in August. At the Rose festival you will find gardens, mosaics, objects and flower arrangements all over Lottum, where everything is decorated with rosebuds. This festival attracts approx. 45.000 visitors. Lottum is also known for its Top Rose Garden (a garden containing all 49 types of roses that earn the predicate  "Top Rose") and for its rose tour by bicylce.

The 2010 Rose festival took place from August 6 through 9. This edition\\\'s theme was: "A kingdom of roses". This last festival in 2010 attracted over 60.000 visitors. The next festival is planned for 2012 and will be held from August 10 through 13.
